Well, all I was really doing was for show. Deep down I was shittin’ bricks myself but the thief didn’t know that. As far as they knew, my bite was as bad as my bark (so to speak). All anyone really has to do to “be tough” is act tough and most people will take your actions at face value.

And it was an iPhone and a wallet. Both have since been replaced. I hope that my actions have at least ensured that this thief will think twice before targeting my home again.

Wow, Audrey, I am impressed by you handling this in your own bad-ass way! More than that, I am alarmed by the reaction–lack thereof–of OPD. It is funny that as some people push for stricter laws regarding guns, there are fewer options when it comes to defending you and your loved ones.

That said, I am happy that no harm came to you. The iPad is replaceable, you and your husband are not.

It can be a lot of fun. There are a lot of great people there that make Kink an amazing work environment. Of course, like every company, there are some that detract from the ambiance but they are in the minority.

I feel incredibly lucky that I have been able to learn about myself so intimately, in such a safe environment. How many newbie kinksters can say that? I may not shoot there any more but I am eternally grateful for the experiences I’ve had and memories I’ve made.

I’m just saddened that something that is just an aesthetic nuisance caused so many people to panic. I could have easily shot with a positive cancer-causing HPV test and no one would have cared (well, unless I had been honest about it of course).

It shouldn’t surprise me though; this is a vain industry.

And assfix, thanks for your well wishes. I’m done with this for the time being. It just hurts too much to know that despite the good karma and reputation I built I could **still** be humiliated so publicly by a company I loved AND defended. At least I was able to explore new sides of myself while earning an income. It was a lot of fun to spend a year and a half as a kinky sex symbol. There is an old saying that “No good deed goes unpunished”. You did the right thing and I find it disappointing that some in your industry would rather hide the truth about these risks that you and your co-workers take than being honest and proactive about it.

Here is some info I pulled up. Molluscum Facts and Fiction I love section 9. "Molluscum contagiousum is a benign disease with no adverse sequelae." The section starts with "Fiction" then describes how Children with it do suffer, that is, from "teasing, embarrassment, and social isolation..." They also mention anxiety in caregivers as something caused by molluscum. So yeah.... All it does is freak people out. I am definitely suffering from embarrassment and social isolation.

Honesty is definitely the best policy! I don’t think people always hide it, perhaps they contacted it right after they got tested-a lot of STDS have no symptoms. I’m not saying that’s what happened,but it is a possibility. Shame is definitely no excuse to endanger someone else’s health-you did the right thing!
